Reliance Jio’s Internerconnect usage charges regime (IUC) came to end with effect from 1st January, 2021. Which means now Jio prepaid users can make free calls to non Jio numbers.
Its a good news for Jio prepaid customers and it makes the year 2021 indeed ‘a happy new year’.
Most of Jio’s prepaid plans offered a certain number of minutes allotted for making calls to other network numbers. Reliance Jio now offers truly unlimited calling to all networks.
Jio assures that all postpaid and prepaid customers will not be charged 6 paise per min to call non Jio other operator mobile numbers with effect from 1st January 2021.
Earlier in 2019 Jio implemented IUC charges for Jio to non-Jio calls.
Jio had assured its users that this charge would continue only till the time TRAI abolished IUC charges.
“Today, Jio has delivered on that promise and made off-net voice calls free again. Jio stands firm on its commitment to make the common Indian the beneficiary of advanced technologies like VoLTE. Jio is a CUSTOMER-OBSESSED ORGANIZATION and CARES FOR EVERY SINGLE USER. All our users enjoy free voice calls with Jio.” A statement from official press release issued by Reliance Jio on 31st December, 2020.
The press release further stated,
“Honoring its commitment to revert off-net domestic voice-call charges to zero, as soon as IUC charges are abolished, Jio will once again make all off-net domestic voice calls free, starting 1st January 2021. On-net domestic voice calls have always been free on the Jio network.”
Internerconnect usage charges have been removed from all Jio prepaid plans.

Jio prepaid Rs 149 plan:
Jio prepaid Rs 149 plan offers unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS/day, and 1GB high-speed internet per day. The pack also gives a complimentary access to Jio apps.The validity of the recharge is 24 days. This is the cheapest Jio plan under the category ‘ALL-IN-ONE PLANS’.
Jio prepaid Rs 199 plan:
Jio prepaid Rs 199 plan offers unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS/day, and 1.5GB high-speed internet per day. The pack also includes complimentary access to Jio apps. The validity of the recharge is 28 days.
Jio prepaid Rs 249 plan:
Jio prepaid Rs 249 plan offers Truly Unlimited Calling, 100 SMS/day, and 2GB high-speed internet per day. The pack comes with a complimentary access to all Jio apps. The validity of the recharge is 28 days.
Jio prepaid Rs 349 plan:
Jio prepaid Rs 349 plan offers Truly Unlimited Calling, 100 SMS/day, and 3GB high-speed internet per day. The plan also includes complimentary access to Jio apps. The validity of the recharge is 28 days.
Jio prepaid Rs 599 plan:
Jio prepaid Rs 599 plan offers Truly Unlimited Calling, 100 SMS/day, and 2GB high-speed internet per day. The pack comes with a complimentary access to all Jio apps. The validity of the recharge is 84 days.
