Now that you have bought a new SIM and wondering what to do next, we have everything listed in this blog to help you.
Here is just what you have to do after your Prepaid/ Postpaid SIM is delivered home.
Once you have completed the digital KYC, you should start the process of activating your number. Below are the steps to take for each connection type: Prepaid/ Postpaid or Ported Number.
1. New Prepaid Connection
For your new prepaid connection, after completing the digital KYC you should get your tele-verification done within 1-2 days. For tele-verification of your number, all you have to do is dial 59059 from your new prepaid connection. You will be directed to automated messages from the operator. Follow the instructions to activate your number sitting at home. Your plan benefits will be added to your number once the tele-verification is complete and your number is active.
Please note: Your order is not eligible to refund if you have not gone through the tele-verification process.
2. New Postpaid Connection
In case of a postpaid connection, after you have completed the digital KYC for your new connection you will have to go through address and tele verification. You don’t have to do much for the same. One of the representatives from your selected operator will reach your location for address verification. After that for tele-verification, dial 59059 from your new connection and follow the steps to get your number activated.
3. Ported Number
In case of MNP, you will get your new SIM delivered and the representative will help you complete the digital KYC at the time of delivery. As per TRAI guidelines, the porting process will take about 7 days (post July this will be reduced to 2 days). This means you will have to continue using your current number for about 7 days. Change your SIM to new SIM when you stop seeing signal strength in your current network.
After changing the old SIM to new SIM, follow the activation instructions mentioned for prepaid and postpaid respectively as per your connection type.
Buying SIM and getting your number activated is quick and simple when you order your SIM online from 10digi.com.
